It’s been 4 years since I don’t go back to Peru, and it was so great to be home! If you find yourself visiting Lima, here are some spots you MUST check out. Unfortunately my boyfriend was in Lima for only a couple of days (since we also did Cusco) so he wasn’t able to explore Lima fully. There’s so much more than what I list below, however for me, this trip was mainly focused on spending time with my family and friends that I hadn’t seen in forever.

Centro de Lima: This is the historic center of Lima, where you will see beautiful Europen architecture. The most known landmarks are “El Palacio de Gobierno” which is the presidential residence, San Francisco convent, and “La Catedral de Lima”.

Central: After watching the episode of Virgilio Martinez and his restaurant Central on Chef’s Table, I became obsessed with going to this place. I made my reservation months in advance (but later heard you don't need THAT much time in advance haha). The experience was AMAZING! My family and I chose to do the 16 course menu, which is the biggest one. The menu explores every altitude of Peru, from 20 metres below sea level to 4,100 metres above it. The chef and his wife explored all of Peru to get unique ingredients from the land, sea and mountains.

Each dish is an art piece, all the dishes and presentations are meticulously put together. There is so much detail! The whole dining experience was almost 4 hours, so keep this in mind when putting together your itinerary.

Punta Hermosa: Before I moved to LA, Asia was the beach to be at during the summer. Over the years, this place lost it’s popularity, and the new “IT” place is Punta Hermosa. I spent two weekends here and had a blast! The nightlife is fun, and the clubs don’t close till 6am. I felt like a grandma, I was tired by 3am 👵🏼.

Parque del Amor: As the name says it, this is the “Park of Love”. However, don’t feel like you need a partner to visit this place, I’ve honestly done photoshoots here with my girlfriends hahaha. In the center of the park is a huge statue of a couple kissing, and around the park there’s undulating walls with colorful mosaics. It’s really nice to take pictures with all the colors, plus you have a view of the beach!
