My Wild Ones and I have a New Years tradition - we travel to a different country to ring in the New Year. When I mention my Wild Ones, I’m referring to my best friends from Peru, who I grew up with 💕. This nickname was given to us in high school by our teacher Mr. Cotner, who would see our weekly Facebook post of us partying... I guess he found us to be pretty wild. This New Years tradition started in high school and our first destination was Nicaragua. Eventually, we moved to different countries and cities, so this became our “excuse” to meet up every year!
This year, we decided to travel to Nassau (and bring along other friends). We stayed there for 6 days - all filled with beach, partying, and lots of pictures! Scroll down to see some of my favorite memories 👭👭👭!
Day 1 & 2
The first two days were pretty much the same, chilling by the beach during the day and going out at night. We stayed at the Meliá Nassau Resort, it was recently renovated so it’s very modern and beautiful! There are different restaurants to choose from, but the food (which you know how much I like) was disappointingly ok 😐.
I didn’t wake up until noon, so there goes my entire morning... 😅 Some things never change. New year, same old me! I honestly don’t know how the rest of my friends managed to wake up before me, especially since they didn’t go to sleep 'til 7:30 am!
As you will see, this was our most epic day and we took a MILLION pictures. The hardest part was narrowing down our favorites 😅. Exuma was so beautiful! The water was crystal clear, the sand white, and the weather much warmer. From the group, Mica, Anahi and I were the only ones who ventured to Exuma Bay to take pictures with the famous 🐷.
Because it was raining, my friends decided to stay at the resort, but Andrea and I wanted to keep exploring. We went to Blue Lagoon, an island an hour away from Nassau. This beach is especially perfect for kids! There are different animal encounters you can do (dolphin, sea lion, stingray) and different beach activities. When we got there, the weather had gotten a lot better, so the first thing we did was get in the water. To get into the island you need a pass. It includes ring floats, so you can be lazy and just relax in the water 💦. Another cool activity that the island includes is an inflatable playground in the ocean! I have never seen something like this before, it had a slide, climbing wall, obstacle course and more!
I hope you enjoyed this mini diary of my trip! This was my first time writing so much and had so much fun along the way! More travel diaries coming soon.
